Lourdes was THE most AMAZING experience i have ever had! I have been to lourdes before, but this year, going to lourdes with the redshirts was different! I have made some life long friends and eaten some of the tastiest ice cream, oh! and crepes! =D going to the grotto was amazing, i had been before, but not at night! it was really emotional! Also, the candle bank was very emotional too, the amount of candles were amazing, and to think each of them hold a prayer, or maybe more, its really touching! I feel proud that i am now able to say ”yep! i was a redshirt in 2010 and it was the single most amazing experience i have ever had!”

When my sister told me how amazing Lourdes was for her last year i could not begin to comprehend how wondrous it really was. Lourdes is a place that is hard to understand until you actually experience it yourself and i felt that this year when in Lourdes. I dont think i have ever cried so much in my life-in a good way- everything was so heartfelt and genuine it just made me want to bawl my eyes out! I will most certainly spread the beautiful story of Lourdes to expand the redshirt name even further!
Words cannot describe how grateful i am to all the beautiful people i prayed, sung, eat, laughed and cried with.

A though thoughts from a leader…

Lourdes 2010 was a fantastic experience. The Redshirts is one of the best things I have ever been a part of and I am constantly grateful to Ray for letting me be a leader. This year, we could see the Love of God really clearly shining through the Redshirts and through every experience of the week. I am grateful to my co-leaders, to Ray, to Fr. Rob and to each and every redshirt for making this year’s Lourdes so amazing. I am also grateful to the wider A&B pilgrimage without who there would be no point in doing it. The sick pilgrims especially are such an inspiration.

Lourdes has to be the most amazing week of my life. It was the first time I had been to Lourdes and I’m so glad I applied to be a redshirt. The experience was fantastic and although it was very emotional it was a place where we had many laughs and tears.
I will never forget waving to not only A&B pilgrims but random pilgrims from all over the world during our red carpets, the singing at the station after the chaos from greeting everyone or singing at the baths and being applauded.
I met the most amazing people in Lourdes and now most of the redshirts are the greatest friends I’ve ever had. I miss everything so much but I still have amazing memories that will stay with me forever.
Thanks to all the leaders, Ray, Jack, Fr Rob, and allll the redshirts who mean sooo much to me. Without you guys this wouldn’t have been possible and soo thank you so much.

Thank you so much to everyone who made Lourdes possible for us.We can only hope that more people will be able to get there in the near future, who currently can’t as it was a place of true peace and beauty. The way you went about your religion or stage you were at in your faith didn’t matter in Lourdes because it is a place where you are encouraged to find your faith and to let it blossom. I think what you experience there can’t be described but it is amazingly real. We are so so so grateful that we could go! Thank you so much to Ray, Fr Rob, the amazing redshirts, all the leaders and everyone who sorted out all the stuff for us.

Where do I start? I was at first a little apprehensive being a second time redshirts, as my dreams and expectations were so high from last year! But I certainly wasn’t disappointed. I have never bonded with so many people in such a short space of time. And I hope these bonds will last! Because being with such a talented, compassionate, caring group of people changed so much about me for the better, and made my overall experience of Lourdes one that I will truly cherish for the rest of my life. Thank you to the leaders, to Ray, to Fr Rob, and to all of the amazing Redshirts for the best 10 days I have ever had x x x
