Well… I’ll start. I’m not a redshirt, but one of the Redshirt leaders. It was an amazing week and a privilege to be part of.

The 60 (ish) young people we had with us are all beautiful, amazing, gifted, talented, awesome, lovely people and I am proud to have walked alongside them this week.

Highlights of the week for me include the anointing Mass, the singing, the retreat day, the banter and so much more…

I was a redshirt from 2009!! wooooooo
absolutely loved every moment of it including the tears.

i though i was ready to leave when i was on the coach but to be perfectly honest its sooooooooo lonely not waking up travelling downstairs and seeing the breakfast room filled with smiling redshirts!

arghh i miss the buzz of it all… and lourdes has certainly changed me i’m more open and willing to speak about my faith also i feel ive become more patient as well. Ive told everyone about it and i hope to become hospitality next year aswell woo bring it on!

I was a first time redshirt this year, and i’ve been to lourdes many times – this year was sooo different in way of coming home. I missed it so much more than i ever had before!!

i will definiteley be applying next year!

I had such an amazing time at Lourdes being a Redshirt this year!! There wasn’t one moment I was wishing I back home or doing something else. Really recommend it as you will make friends and memories for life!

Going to Lourdes with the Redshirts was the best experience I have ever had. I really felt like I was making a difference and I had heaps of fun in the process. Lourdes is a place of healing and I think I was changed for the better by going. I will be applying for next year!

This was my second year as a Redshirt, and although it came with it’s challenges it was incredible! The tears, hugs, smiles, laughter and everything included was amazing. And it’s such a pride to be part of such a talented and beautiful youth. Redshirts has inspired me and helped me in a variety of ways over the past two years and the experience will certainly never leave me!
So thank you to Ray and all the leaders for igniting the faith inside me. x

oh my! the days i spent as a red shirt was wonderful! it made me realize a lot of things about myself and my faith. i have met a lot of people who i know i will keep in touch with. I also felt proud of myself for being able to make a difference to somebody because of just a simple gesture like greeting them!! I met a sick pilgrim who i admire because even after all the difficulties he had faced all throughout his life he still had faith in God and looked at all the good things that happened in his life rather than the bad things that happened. I also admire all the sick pilgrims for having such a massive faith in God especially at getting healed either emotionally or physically.

I also thank all the redshirts, leaders especially my group leaders Chloe and Stu, Fr. Rob and most of all RAY MOONEY!

My time as a redshirt this year was the best time i have ever had, the hardest bit is leaving Lourdes.
Both my brother and I are applying for next year which can’t come fast enougth!

wow it had taken me a long time to write on here! reading through all the comments has brought tears to my eyes. i agree with every single one. lourdes was the most amazing experience of my life and has changed me so much for the better. i know that i have made friends for life and i miss and love you all. God truly has blessed every single one of you, you big bunch of amazing people! see you at youth gather thank you also to all the AMAZING leaders. wouldnt be possible without you guys *round of applause*
